The purpose of the Alaska Youth Scholarship Tournament (AYST) is to provide an opportunity for youth bowlers to be able to earn scholarships for the purpose of bowling instruction or continuing education.  The Tournament will provide an opportunity for youth bowlers to foster camaraderie (good will and lighthearted rapport between or among friends) and fellowship (a union of friends or equals sharing similar interests). Throughout the Tournament season bowlers will participate in nine tournaments, eight of which will be monthly qualifying tournaments with the ninth one being a Tournament of Champions.  These Tournaments encourage healthy competition, physical fitness, sportsmanship, and good citizenship. AYST is committed to the development of its youth members by their participation in the sport of ten pin through a tournament format.
